Sand Bay Resort is located just north of Parry Sound in the heart of the 30,000 islands. This piece of paradise is lurking far from civilization amongst the windswept white pines, tranquil inlets and sheltered channels of the internationally renowned Georgian Bay.
The property is sitting on almost 8 acres of Georgian Bay's most pristine shoreline with picturesque sandy beach and 600' of water frontage. The cottages are a mix of fully equipped and well appointed 2 and 3-bedroom units facing the beach or the forest.

FAQ
What are cottages equipped with?
- All cottages except #1 and #11 have wood stoves with glass doors (fireplaces). Firewood is supplied for use in the fireplaces at no charge. Campfires for cottages are shared and are allowed in only two designated locations: one at the front of the resort, for all guests; and one at the back of the resort for cottages #5, #6, and #9. Firewood for these fire pits is also supplied. All kitchens have a fridge, stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pans, basic cutlery, cups, glasses. There are books and games, but no TVs or telephones.
Will you be offering boat rentals?
- There will be no boats or other equipment rentals in 2024 at the resort, however you can rent a boat from Dillon Cove Marina and dock it on the resort free of charge.
How do I pay my balance?
- We switched to a new booking engine in early 2024. If you made your booking in 2023, you will receive an email with details to pay your balance when the payment is due.
What’s check-in/check-out time?
- Check-in is at 4:00 pm, check-out is at 11:00 am. Unfortunately, early check-in or late check-out are not available.
Are your cottages equipped with heating?
- Yes, every cottage is equipped with baseboard electric or portable heaters. Some are fully winterized. Please check individual cottage descriptions.
Is there a fee to dock your boat?
- No, boat docking is free of charge.
What cleaning is done by the owners prior to the guests arriving and what is expected to be cleaned by the guests?
- Upon check-out, we clean all cottages prior to new arrivals. We ask all guests to leave the cottages in the same condition as they are upon check-in.
Do cottages have wifi?
- Yes, we provide wifi free of charge, however, at the moment, it is limited in some areas of the resort.
Do the cottages have private BBQs and firepits?
- Every cottage has a private propane BBQ. Please check with the resort manager if the weather during your stay is favorable for making fires.
Is smoking allowed?
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoor accommodations.
Do you provide bedding/linens?
- Yes, we provide linens and towels.
What’s your cancellation policy?
- Deposits will be refunded in full if notification of cancellation is received 30 days prior to check-in date. Reservations cannot be modified or canceled within 30 days before the check-in date.
Are your cottages equipped with A/C?
- No, but all our cottages usually stay cool as they are near the water. Premium accommodations have ceiling fans and we can provide portable fans if requested.
Is there a boat launch at the resort?
- Yes, you can launch your boat at Sand Bay.
Do you offer equipment for water activities?
- No, we don't offer kayaks anymore.
Do you take a security deposit?
- We don’t charge a security deposit, however, any damages may incur a fine proportional to the repair or replacement costs.
Do you provide parking?
- Yes, we offer free parking for all guests.
What cleaning supplies do you provide?
- Every cottage has a dishwashing detergent, sponges, garbage bags, etc.
Can I bring my dog with me?
- Yes, all our accommodations are pet friendly, but fees apply and please follow the rules stated in the Pet Policy section of our Terms & Conditions.
