Welcome to Ambleside Cottage Resort
Ambleside is located in Bobcaygeon village in Kawartha Lakes. Bobcaygeon Village is situated on three islands between Pigeon Lake and Sturgeon Lake offering both activity and tranquility. There are restaurants within walking distance and shopping on the main street.
Our cottages are simple and fully furnished, varying in size to meet your specific family needs; each with a kitchen and a 3-piece bathroom. Enjoy the day, go fishing, and make memories.

FAQ
What are kitchens equipped with?
- All kitchens have a fridge, stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pans, basic cutlery, cups, glasses. The main house also has a dishwasher.
Will you be offering boat rentals?
- There is no boat rental at the resort, however you can rent it in Beaumaris Marina - a short drive from the resort.
How do I pay my balance?
- We switched to a new booking engine in early 2024. If you made your booking in 2023, you will receive an email with details to pay your balance when the payment is due.
What’s check-in/check-out time?
- Check-in is at 4:00 pm, check-out is at 11:00 am. We don't offer early checkin and late checkout.
Are your cottages equipped with heating?
- Yes, every cottage is equipped with baseboard electric or propane heaters, or portable space heaters.
Is there a fee to dock your boat?
- No, boat docking is free of charge.
What cleaning is done by the owners prior to the guests arriving and what is expected to be cleaned by the guests?
- Upon check-out, we clean all cottages prior to new arrivals. We ask all guests to leave the cottages in the same condition as they are upon check-in.
Do cottages have wifi?
- Yes, we provide wifi free of charge, however, at the moment, it is limited in some areas of the resort.
Do the cottages have private BBQs and firepits?
- Every cottage has a private BBQ, and there’s a huge shared campfire at the property. Please check with the resort manager if the weather during your stay is favorable for making fires.
Is smoking allowed?
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoor accommodations.
Do you provide bedding/linens?
- Yes, we provide linens and towels.
What’s your cancellation policy?
- Deposits will be refunded in full if notification of cancellation is received 30 days prior to check-in date. Reservations cannot be modified or canceled within 30 days before the check-in date.
Are your cottages equipped with A/C?
- All Ambleside cottages but #3 have air conditioners.
Is there a boat launch at the resort?
- Not on site, but the public launch is minutes away from the resort (West St & Front St W).
Do you offer equipment for water activities?
- No, we don't offer kayaks anymore.
Do you take a security deposit?
- We don’t charge a security deposit, however, any damages may incur a fine proportional to the repair or replacement costs.
Do you provide parking?
- Yes, we offer free parking for all guests.
What cleaning supplies do you provide?
- Every cottage has a dishwashing detergent, sponges, garbage bags, etc.
Can I bring my dog with me?
- Yes, all our accommodations are pet-friendly, but there's a flat $100 pet fee and please follow the rules stated in the Pet Policy section of our Terms & Conditions
